Wells Moat Walk
Attractions > Walking, Cycling and the Outdoors
The centre of Wells has barely changed in several hundred years. This Map created by William Simes in 1735 is the basis for a short walking tour around the centre of Wells. Starting from the market place, it takes in the Bishop's Palace, tithe barn, Vicars' Close, and the Cathedral with the Green. The tour gives a little bit of information about what can be seen. The tour also takes you past the Black Dog of Wells workshop where you can buy unique handmade decorative wall plaques. This invaluable walking tour map has been designed to fit on a sheet of A4 so you can print it out at home.
