Box of Dreams with Mei Yi Foo (pianist)
Old Wellensian Mei Yi Foo dazzled critics at the BBC Music Magazine’s Best Newcomer Awards with her “liberating” and “virtuoso display” (The Times). Playfulness is an important talent for any musician, and Mei Yi’s ‘box of dreams’ is Cedars Hall’s new Steinway piano, from which she conjures an exotic, glittering set of miniature musical ‘toys’ by Unsuk Chin, Frederic Rzewski, Dai Fujikura, Stravinksy and Debussy.
