The King's Head, 36 High Street, Wells, Somerset BA5 2SG, Tel: 01749 672141(day)

The King's Head, an Inn since the 1600s, is where medieval meets modern. It is recommended as the friendliest pub in Wells with fantastic service and something to suit everyone.
During the day the King's Head offers a relaxed and cosy place for a quiet chat, coffee or a bite to eat. In the evenings, the pub loves music, often showcasing local bands and holding open mic and open acoustic nights. DJs move things up a gear at weekends. Karaoke competitions, pub quizzes and salsa lessons add to the friendly and inclusive atmosphere. There are also free movie nights on Sundays.
You can't talk about the King's Head without mentioning the food. It's the subject of many customers' recommendations with praises sung about the quality and value. The menu is good honest English pub food using as much fresh and local produce as possible. The generous portions make a meal at the King's Head fantastic value for money. Food is served from midday until 8.30pm every day and until 4pm in the winter period (Jan - Easter). There's a large sandwich menu for lunches, plus lighter bites for a light lunch or a starter. Main meals include steaks, pasta and fish.
