The Wells Festival of Literature 2012 will run from Friday 12 October through Saturday 20 October in this glorious city. Venues include the Bishop's Palace and the Vicars' Hall, all close to the Cathedral. The Festival offers stimulating talks by well known authors on topics from Dickens to downloads, from politics to poetry, and from topiary to telepathy.
Sales go towards free events for primary and secondary school children.
2012 speakers include Matthew Parris, Antonia Fraser, Sarah Raven, Jonathan Dimbleby, Michael Frayn, Claire Tomalin, and Andrew Miller. Kate Williams is the main picture.
