The Glastonbury Music Festival needs little introduction - it is the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world and a template for all the festivals that have come after it. There are over 50 stages with the main ones being the Pyramid, Other, West Holt, John Peel and Acoustic.
The headline performances from U2, Coldplay and Beyonce were excellent but there are so many more bands to discover on so many stages.
The Dance Village caters for many tastes including disco, dubstep and reggae. For those with still plenty of energy Arcadia, Block 9, Shangri La and The Common provide plenty of clubbing into the early morning hours. Arcadia with its spidery appearance is a 360 degree rotating stage with pyrotechnics, circus acts and special effects.
If you are looking for a break from the music there is the Circus Field and Cabaret Marquee for comedy as well as the more peaceful Craft Field, Healing Field and Sacred Space with a stone circle.
The viewing area from the hill to the south provides a spectacular panorama of the festival site. If it is a nice day, this makes a good spot to get a little bit more peace and take the weight off your feet and just absorb the enormity of the festival.
