ABOUT THE SQUARE EDGE CAFE
As soon as we saw it we knew we had found our ideal home in a perfect location, an 18th Century house sitting proudly at the top of the cobbled streets of the market square in the beautiful Cathedral City of Wells, Somerset.
Two years later we converted our home into a café which has a distinctly retro vintage feel to it. We have created a space to relax in, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy what we think is fantastic coffee specifically selected by us after visiting very many roasteries (our Tea and Hot Chocolate is pretty special as well!) We are told that our food is wonderfully tasty, made from local ingredients wherever possible, including our amazing cakes.
The history of the Square Edge Café is significant, in that the building was once used as an eating room for prisoners being held next door in the Town Hall; it has been said that a ‘friendly’ ghost still occupies the premises.
You are able to select and listen to music on our in-café original jukebox and even purchase the furniture and ornaments; we have a shop on our website which contains many of the items found for sale in our café.
We hope that you will be able to visit us sometime in the near future.
